Well this time around I was late, I noticed signs like waking up at a specific time in the morning, sore boobs, metallic taste in mouth, not breaking out. I got excited I might be pregnant. I bought a test and it came out negative. 2 days later I started my period. I took ibprofin for the cramps. Like i alwats do. i had trouble sleeping the night i started, and when i was working the next day under pain medication i develoed a headache, which got worse as the day progresses, waht started out as a light buzz, with out takin more pain medcine turned into a poundig headache. i went to bed with it, thinkin i just needed more sleep. It would not go away, it was a full in migraine at 9am. I woke up with it pounding. I took some medicine and slept till 2pm. Got up and dressed and now I have a ringin in my ears and a metallic taste that will not leave. I ate and it came back, I drink water or juice and nothing changes it. And my headache is returning.

Brief Answer:
Hormonal change may have caused this.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for sharing your problem with us.

A women's body undergoes a lot of hormonal changes during the menstrual cycle. At the time of menstruation female hormones drop to their minimum level & then began to rise again to peak just before menstruation. In fact this hormonal change causes menstruation to began.

Sometimes due to this abrupt hormonal changes, women may suffer problems like inability to sleep & headaches. Usually this settles in 1-2 days as the body gets use to it.

This time you period was a bit late, which may be associated with a higher than normal levels of hormones, which when fell down at the onset of your periods, cause all these symptoms.

Hope this settles soon. You may take any OTC pain killer.

If this persists for longer then expected, please consult a physician to rule out other causes of headache.

Wish you good health.

Take care.

Brief Answer:
No, not necessary.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome back.

No, this is not necessary. This may or may not recur. God forbid, if this recur in most of your cycles & bothering you much then this may be a part of PMS ( premenstrual syndrome). You should visit a Gynecologist for evaluation & treatment.

Take care.
