What Causes Delayed Tooth Eruption In A Child?

default
Posted on Tue, 20 Dec 2016
Question: My baby will be 18 months old on 22nd December 2016. My query is with regards to her teething, I see that she is getting her first two teeth coming up at the bottom. She has been mostly on liquid diet (mixed vegetable soup with dal and rice). I know most of kids of her age will have quite a few teeth and eat regular food. Do I need to worry about her teething or this is something that is normal. She has learned how to walk and is a active girl. But wanted to take your opinion to get some insights.

Brief Answer:
Teething is delayed - check vitamin D level

Detailed Answer:
Hi... This is definitely delayed teething, having only 2 teeth by 18 months. She needs evaluation. It might by vitamin D deficiency.

I suggest you check her calcium and vitamin D levels and get back to me.
