Question : Hi sir,

My friend has taken ipill 3 days back...Now she is suffering from loose motion ..Is it safe to have antibiotics now?Are there any side effects?

Let me assure that it is a very bad practice to give antibiotics whenever a person pases loose stools. Most often the diarrhea is due to viral cause and antibiotics are ineffective. Unless there is bloody stools antibiotics need not be given even in bacterial causes as these infections are self limiting. So, I would not recommend taking antibiotics. ORS (oral rehydration solution) is the mainstay of treatment.

No specific side effect or interaction when taken 3 days after iPill.
