Question: Good morning:
Clay/white stools. 4 episodes diarrhea yesterday. No appetite for several days. No jaundice. Abused alcohol for years, quit alcohol August 2014. Took XXXXXXX Seltzer Cold Plus twice 4 days ago and once/day thereafter for 3 days for head cold. This morning firm clay stools and crampy intestines. Blood test 2 weeks ago fine. Wait or see M.D.?

Brief Answer:
See MD

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Your XXXXXXX Seltzer Cold plus elimination adds extra stress on the already ailing liver. I would like to know what were the blood tests that were fine two weeks ago.

If the liver can get over it, as soon as you stop the medicines you should get back the normal color stool. You should not use any medicine like Acetaminophen, regular antihistamines that adds stress on liver.

In fact you should not take any over the counter medicines without letting your doctor know. You should ask your doctor now what medicines can be used during an emergency if he is unreachable. Only vicks vaporizers is ideal for relief if you have head congestion.

I suggest to visit MD.
