Brief Answer:
Needs hospitalisation and fluids.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing to us.

Your son seems to have suffered a lot for 3 weeks.
Amoebiasis should have settled by now after 2 courses of anti parasitic medicines.
Loosing 600 grams doesn't sound good.
You need to get him hospitalised and he will benefit from intravenous drugs and fluids.

With persistent diarrhoea, oral medicines won't work well as gut is already damaged and absorption of medicines will be poor.

He may benefit from extensive work up of stool including reducing substances and blood tests including renal function and electrolytes.

Wishing your child good health.
Regards Dr Arun
