Question: I have had lots of stress in my life of late. I have adult son who is Bipolar and has been having episode after episode. My own Family Dr. put me on a blood pressure med Lisinopril at 5mg. and also I am 5taking 0.05 of Lorazepam to help calm me and allow me to get rest at night .

As of late I have had change in my bowel movements to pencil thin and some diarrhea. I always have had problems with constipation when I get uptight.

Brief Answer:
It is one of the side effect of lisinopril, it will reduce with time

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome.
I have gone through your query.

I would like to know, the diarrhea is noted post introduction of lisinopril.
Lisinopril can cause diarrhea as side effect nearly in 2 to 10% of people. But it is not very bothersome and reduces with time.
Presently, as it seems you have recently started with this medicines, your symptom will reduce with time. Presently I would recommend you to avoid spicy food, oily and fried food. Add more vegetables to your diet, it adds fiber to your diet. With these measures. You should be fine.

This provisional advice provided by me is based entirely on the input provided to me. I would suggest examination by the doctor.

I hope this suggestion might be of some help to you. Please accept my answer in case you do not have further queries.
Take care.
