Hello, and thanks for your question.

Sometimes Zoloft can cause stomach upset. This rarely lasts more than 2 weeks. What is likely happening here is some GI distress including gallbladder involvement, which will be temporary, and will resolve within a couple weeks. If these symptoms persist beyond 2 more weeks, talk to your doctor about switching to a different antidepressant with lower risk of GI side effects such as Wellbutrin.

Had my gall bladder removed 5 years ago and had a hernia surgery under my ribs 2 years ago. Also had xrays on my ribs and nothing wrong. I just quit the zoloft was only on it for 2 weeks. just cant stand the pain. Thank you for answering in a timely fashion. Pain had started 3 wks ago but could tolerate it. Quit zoloft on Monday. Thanks again. Had an ulcer too so know what that feels like too.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back,

I would try Wellbutrin instead of Zoloft, as it is less likely to cause GI side effects and is a very good antidepressant.
