Brief Answer:
You will need antibiotics
Detailed Answer:
Hello
From your complaints it looks like you are suffering from a condition called as acute follicular tonsillitis, this is a bacterial infection of the tonsils.
The yellowish color is due to infected exudates.
You should meet your ent doctor , who will so some tests on you like strep test , throat swab and confirm the diagnosis , He will also prescribe you the necessary antibiotics.
For the time being i would like you to stop smoking and drinking and do warm salt water gargles 2-3 times a day , this will soothe your throat and reduce the pain.
Please meet your ent doctor as soon as possible.
Thanks
