Brief Answer:
upper GI endoscopy

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX
Thanks for using healthacremagic.

There are many causes for dysphagia - difficulty in swallowing.

There can be problems in the food pipe like strictures, webs, rings, tumours, spasm and reflux disease.

The food pipe can be visualised only by endoscope.

Please see a gastroenterologist and get an upper GI endoscopy done to come to a diagnosis.

It is a very simple procedure. A thin tube will be inserted into your food pipe through your mouth. The tip of the tube has a camera and the picture from the food pipe is visualised on a monitor. It takes only 10 minutes and is painless. The entire length of the food pipe and the stomach can be visualised. Any disease can be picked up. It is worthwhile getting this procedure done to diagnose the exact cause for your difficulty in swallowing.

Brief Answer:
not possible

Detailed Answer:
Hello Madam,
Swallowing problems can be for solids or for both sloids and liquids, but not for half the day the rest half being symptom free. They cannot arise only during the night and disappear during the day.

Anxiety , stress, depression and other emotional problems can also somatasize and give rise to swallowing related complaints which are not consisitent and tend to come and go. Do you have such issues?

You need to be examined. You can start with meeting the physician and then if necessary meet a gastro.

Regards,
Dr Rajkishori Godhi
