Question : I have difficulty urinating, it takes me up to a minute to start even though I am busting and comes out in a trickle. I have pain in my lower right abdomen area, I have no appendix, the pain is a sharp stabbing pain, sometimes burning sensation, I have completed a urinalysis and it has come back clear. sometimes the pain goes down my leg

Brief Answer:
Has urine culture and sensitivity be done ?

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Thanks for writing in .

From the symptoms, initially the first diagnosis that came to my mind was urinary tract infection. However, you said urinanalysis has come out to be clear.

I would advise you to get the following tests done :

Urine culture and Sensitivity.
Ultrasound Abdomen and Pelvis to rule out kidney stones/ gynaecological problems etc.

If nothing abnormal detected on the above 2 tests, please consult a urogynecologist.

In the meantime I would advise you to drink plenty of fluids.
Ensure regular periodic emptying of bladder.

Hope this advise was helpful to you.

Warm Regards,
Divya
