                                            there're indications for prostate biopsy.
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist,i can fully understand your concern.
1. You're worried about, PSA being 4.3,is a biopsy indicated ?
2. Whether BPH can raise PSA.
3. Also,if natural alternatives are available.
I'll answer your questions, one by one.
1. PSA at 4.3 isn't an indication for biopsy, by itself.
The Urologist examination( DRE ), is very important to decide this.
Also, a TRUS (trans rectal scan) of prostate will be done, to decide this.
2. BPH alone can cause changes in PSA. It can cause a raise, with enlargement, infection or inflammation of prostate gland.
3. Natural drugs like saw palmetto, have been used by several patients.
Most patients aren't very happy and switch to standard prescription drugs.
Hope your doubts have been cleared.
Wish you good health.
