I'm in my 35th week of pregnancy. I'm finding it difficult to walk sometimes and breathlessness. I can feel the weight come down completely. My feet and hands have swelling.
Should I be taking complete rest as I am still coming to office?
Am I going to deliver soon and is this condition normal?
Thanks,
XXXX
Get hemoglobin and blood pressure checked
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
I read your query and I understand your concerns about breathlessness and swelling.
Following is my reply:
1) SInce you are nearing term pregnancy, it is possible to have such symptoms especially as you are working.
2) Swelling is due o upright position during work and is normal in pregnancy. If possible take nap for an hour or two at office in afternoon which will reduce swelling.
3) You dont need to stop working now.
4) These symptoms does not mean you are going to deliver soon.
5) I suggest you get hemoglobin test done to check if you anemia as anemia also leads to breathlessness and swelling of feet.
6) Get blood pressure checked once a week.
I hope I answered your query. I will be available for any follow up query you have.
Regards,
Dr. Soumya
