Brief Answer:
It's possible

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

both drugs may cause constipation. Diverticular disease is more common where you're:
- old
- smoker
- obese
- not consuming enough fiber
- using drugs that cause constipation
- are constipated for any reason (Parkinson's disease is in itself a cause of constipation).

Both of the drugs you mentioned may cause constipation. Constipation causes the formation of diverticula. So it is possible that these drugs have played a role in your mother's diverticulitis. Please note though that constipation is not a very frequent side-effect.

My opinion is that your mother's problem is likely caused by constipation due to Parkinson's disease.

I hope I've helped!
