Brief Answer:
It can be due to fungal and bacterial infction or Eczema.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM.

I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to fungal and bacterial infection or eczema. If you upload a picture of it then it will be more helpful.

Do you had any recent history of risky unprotected sexual intercourse?

I would suggest using ointments containing combination of antifungal agents like Miconazole or terbinafine , antibacterial like neomycin and corticosteroid like hydrocortisone for local application. Over the counter available options are Daktarin and Lamisil.

Avoid using soaps and irritants to wash he area. You can use warm water or saline or hypo allergic soaps like Cetaphil.

Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.

Hello Doctor,

Thanks for your reply, I wasn't sure how to send you the awful picture(it has made it look worse than it is) but I put it on the upload.

Not sure if that is correct

Brief Answer:
Looks like balanitis.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome again.

Thank you for your follow up query.

I have gone through your picture. It looks like balanitis (combined bacterial and fungal infection and inflammation).
Oral antibiotics will be required in this case. Broad spectrum antibiotics like like Co-amoxiclav or ciprofloxacin will be helpful for this. If Co-amoxiclav then given in dosage of 625 mg twice daily for 5 to 7 days. If ciprofloxacin then given in dosage of 500 mg twice daily for 5 to 7 days. These are prescription antibiotics.
I would also suggest using topical anti fungal and anti bacterial ointments for local application. You can use lamisil and neosporin triple antibiotic cream for this.

Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.
