Question : I was diagnosed with sinusitis and have been using the nasal spray Fluticasone for A MONTH.

I can now sing high notes without feeling like I wanna pass out, but... I STILL feel a fatigue-muscle feeling behind my right eye. Today, my right ear lost some of its hearing for a second and I heard a different kind of ringing in it.

When I use my spray when I get up at Noon, later that night the top and back of my head flushes and I am constantly putting my hand on the top right side of my head to ease the heat flushing sensation. iF, however, I use my spray at night, I waKE UP THE next day all fatigued. Even when well rested I am constantly fatigued. I think I have a tumor, or aneurysm in my sinuses.

Or maybe it is an excerbation by herniated bulging neck disks.

Or the stroke I had Nov 2013, since a ew months after I hve had to take first Xanax, then Lorazepam, and now Libriumto keep from feeling like a zombie with waves of feeling like I am passing out coming over me at its worst.

Am I dying?

Can I even get a @#@$$#@ diagnoses?

Can I ever be my normal happy, healthy go lucky self again?

Or do I need to kill myself to kill this pain as I am doomed to have to "suck it up" and live with this bulls@#$ for the rest of my life, cause I am more and more contemplating killing myself to end this utter misery.

I can no longer ENJOY life. There's no longer a payoff doing what makes me happy, no XXXXXXX not even when I go to dance clubs (I LOVE music!)

Brief Answer:
Herniated discs can cause headache... Librium - depression...

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for posting the query

I have gone through the query thoroughly and understood your concern. I will try my best to help you with this.

1. The pain behind the eyes and the right ear block with ringing in the ears could be related to the sinus issues. The sudden ringing in the ears happen when the Eustachian tube (the tube connecting nose and the ears) gets blocked due to congestion at the nasal end. While that of the pain in the head may be secondary to herniated discs in the cervical spine.

2. The fatigue you get following use of the nasal spray may not be directly related to the spray itself.

3. Librium does cause fatigue and depression. Hence, you need to talk your doctor regarding this. Even the previous stroke can limit certain cognitive functions. Gradually, you can overcome these issues.

4. Do not worry! You do not seem to have any major issues. It's all transient problems which can be resolved with appropriate measures. I doubt any aneurysms or tumor, as you have got multiple CAT scans done which doesn't mention about any abnormal features.

5. My suggestions to you are:
a. Drink plenty of warm water.
b. Do steam inhalation at least 2 times a day.
c. Use Fluticasone 2 puff in each nostril once a day, in the morning, when you get up from the bed.
d. Try getting physiotherapy for the herniated discs. You will get a great relief in your symptoms.
e. Consult your doctor regarding the usage of Librium and the depression associated with it.
f. Avoid smoking, chilled food & beverages and fizzy drinks.

Hope with these measures you will feel better. Revert back to me if you have any follow-up queries.

That's just it: without the Librium (or previous LOorazepam, or Xanax), the sensation gets so bad I cannot function. I get waves of feeling like a man feels right before he passes out, without passing out.

It first happened a months after my stroke. I was feeling strange, when all of a sudden I thought I would pass out. (This was BEFORE I took Xanax, Librium, etc). I chalked it up to recovering from the troke, as on two occsions my vision was unexplainably cloudy.

The next time it happened was a few months later. I had just come out from washing my hands in the eatery, and as I walked towards the buffet, my ear started ringing loudly suddenly, I felt the hot flushing on the right top side of my head (the first time I felt this "flushing" was in the ER two days after my stroke), and I thought I was going to pass out. They called the ambulance. My BP was 155 / 100 (from the terror I thought I was having another stroke.) Less than 10 minutes later I was feeling a-ok.

Gradually, as the year progressed, I would feel head-sickness - I don't know how else to describe it. Eventually I was put on Lorazepam, then Xanax, then Lorazepam again, and now Librium. Were it not for those I would seriously have killed myself by no.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME CAN I EVEN be "fixed up normal" again?
Oh, and WHY DO I constantly feel this ... unpleasant feeling behind my right eye?

It not only disrupts and makes my right-eye vision distracting, it makes me feel fatiguish. Were it not for my Librium it's proably mke me feel like I wanted to pASS out.

HELP!

Brief Answer:
Fatigue is due to the repair process of damaged brain...

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I sincerely apologize for the delay in answering the query.

Thanks for writing back and posting a detailed history. This description of yours has cleared many of my doubts and made my work much easier.

1. Most of the symptoms described by you are the common side effects following stroke. Do not worry! These symptoms do wean off gradually over a period of time.

2. There are no major issues involved. The symptoms faced by you are all inter-related. Please go through this link, this will clear most of your doubts https://www.stroke.org.uk/what-stroke/what-problems-do-people-have-after-stroke.

3. Sudden onset of noise in the ears is because of the swelling in the auditory area of the brain (the area which controls hearing), following a raise in the blood pressure. The same principle holds good for the eye pain too, as both the centres are situated next to each other.

4. Please consult your ophthalmologist to rule out any stroke related changes in the retina of the eye.

5. Fatigue in the body is part of the repair process of the injured brain. This can be relieved with mind relaxation techniques and gentle physical exercises.

6. I do feel, it would be better for you to continue with librium and discuss with your doctor for any alteration in the dosage.

Do not worry! You are still young; the chances of complete recovery is more in young adults compared to that of their older counterparts. Please do have some patience, you will recover completely over a period of time.

ope this clarifies your doubts. Wish you good health and good luck.

Been to Opthamologist, who took pics of my eyes and said there was no stroke damage. recommended sunglasses and reading glasses only.

It has almost been two years. SHouldn't I be normal by now?

I found myself suddenly able to rap more freer and like I used to ubt...

I reverted back to my slowness of speech the week after. WHY? WHY do I kee getting better, and degressing again?

Doctor told me his gut feeling was that my "pains and such" were related to the stroke. Someone eve suggested I had Trigyminal Moralgia. (The muscle on the right-side back of my neck DOES seem connected to the behind-the-right eye pain causing visual distress (sometimes if I close my left eye and lie on my gut and turn my had to view the screen with only my right eye the screen slightly quivers.)

I'm not sure if the ears ringing started first before stroke, or shortly before I was put on Cyclobenzaprine for muscle spasms before my back epidural injections.

Today, the doctor has added Gabapentin to my mds. It seemed to be working great for the first two days. My vision was better, actually. I DID feel slightly wobbly in my walk. TODAY WHEN getting my sinuses X-rayed I coul not stand completely still without swaying slightly. WHY the de-equalibrium?

I am feeling much discomfort most when I first get out of bed As if sleeping causes it to become aggravated. It takes hours for me to feel 90% normal.
I wake up two or three times before I wanna get up: the first two ties I ake up I feel good, but not fully rested. When I fdinally gwt up well rested I sometimes feel simultaneously fatigued.

I still feel robust, but this head like a shackle around my ankle.

And being old and 42. CAN or will I EVER FEEL on top of my game again. Will it take more than these average doctors in my town to do it?

Can stem cells in the future be of any help?

Can I EVER get off some o the 8 prescriptions meds I am on.

Could stem cells make me able to sleep without my Trazodone?

WHY can I NOT fall asleep without it? Two nights agi I forgot to take my second Trazodone (I take two thirty minutes apart: seems to help bbetter). I woke up about five times before I was ready to get up. the next night I noticed the second pill I forgot to take before going to bed.

WHYYYYYYYYYYYY it is next to impossible for me to sleep NATURALLY? Once upon a time I could nod off and LOVED SLEEP, when I was 23. My sleeping problems began slowly when I was 24. Sincec 1998 I can NOT sleep more than 5 hours straight.
COULD STEM CELLS save me?
I forgot to ask about my stroke residue.

In November 2013 my speech was atrocious after stroke. Here is a video demonstrating what U mean.

https://youtu.be/IRB0AufigLY

(ITY WAS worse!)

Here my speech is today
https://youtu.be/wKKiDz-Ac4U

In Nov, 2013 I had the stroke, fat blockage I was told (I today am constantly TERRIFIED I'll have another!)

In Dec, 2014, I was brerwing some coffee when my speech "went out" again, for five minutes, but then returned to better than normal, only too, two days later, return to it's "normal" cy.

Again, two months ago, I saw some friends, and I could not get the words out I wanted to say to them, but I could say anything else.

WHAAAAATT WERE THOSE terrifying episodes? Will I have any more nasty surprises? I am on Lipitor and Plavix. WHY would my speech do this? After my Dec episode I felt the faigue I felt after my Nov 2013 stroke and was readmitted to the ER, who said, after the cat scan I neede to stay but later said what they saw was the riginal stroke lesion.

HOW CAN I be sure I suffer no more strokes, because I will kill myelf if I lose my speech or any motor function abilitiy, or the ability to rap.

FEAR dominates my life here.

WHY would a fat blockage... Idon't know. I am so... TERRifieD!

Brief Answer:
Stem cell therapy can alleviate most of your symptoms...

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Welcome back

1. The recurrent episodes of wellness followed by transient worsening of the problems are mainly due to the stroke. As the vessels in the brain could be having atherosclerotic (fat deposition in the arteries) plaques, the blood supply in these vessels will be minimal. During some occasions these vessels will become completely blocked and reduces the blood supply to the target area. This block is usually bypassed either by formation of collateral circulation or relieved by increase in the blood pressure. Hence, you pass through some unpleasant episodes during this phase. Even though, you are on blood thinners and anti-lipid medicines, it may not be effective in relieving the old blocks.

2. Any issues with the eye, the pain is perceived over the back of the head, also known as occipital area. This is nothing to do with trigeminal neuralgia. In the latter condition, an individual will present with burning sensation over one side of the face along with difficulty in chewing.

3. Ringing in the ear could be an early indication of narrowing of the blood vessels in the brain. At present, the ringing could be secondary to the edema in the auditory area.

4. The disequilibrium is chiefly due to stroke in the brain stem which may involve the vestibular area. The only way to overcome this is to perform vestibular rehabilitation exercises.

5. The reason behind lack of sleep could be anxiety and this gets worsened post stroke. Taking trazadone for a long duration could have caused addiction for this drug. Your doctor can suggest the best way to recover from this and request him to switch over to some other safer alternatives.

6. Discomfort following sleep is because of the side effects of the medicine Trazadone.

7. Stem cells have shown some promising results, but, it's still in its infancy. For more details regarding this, contact Dr. XXXXXXX Cramer, clinical director of the Stem Cell Research Center at the University of California, XXXXXXX He is the pioneer in the stem cell research and has met with success in his endeavors.

8. I have examined the videos thoroughly. I'm extremely sorry for the position you are in. I do understand your concern. Post stroke, you had developed dysarthria (slurring of speech). Dysarthria is caused by the damage to the brain.
As a result of this injury, there is weakness or paralysis in the muscles controlling mouth and facial movements or the respiratory system. Also, the pathways for language comprehension or production are disrupted or destroyed. For most people, this means damage to the left hemisphere of the brain.

To conclude, I would suggest you the following:
1. Try consulting Dr. XXXXXXX Cramer regarding stem cell therapy. Stem cell therapy can alleviate most of your symptoms without medicines.
2. Speech rehabilitation is required to make your speech normal. Hence, you need to consult a speech language pathologist (SLP).
3. Relaxation techniques such as meditation and gentle physical exercises can reduce the episodes of discomfort. Also, vestibular rehabilitation exercises can reduce the equilibrium.
4. Finally, discuss with your doctor regarding the decrease in the number of medicines such as Trazadone and other anti-depressants. Check out regarding usage of melatonin capsules for the sleep related issues; this is a safe alternative for Trazadone.

Hope this clarifies your doubts. Wish you good health and good luck.

HOW DO I get RID of this plaque?
Any tests I can get to detect them?
WHAT meds CAN be more effective at eliminating the blocks?

Are the thinning vessels in my ears gonna hurt or kill me anytime soon?
CAN I EVER be happy go lucky, care-free, pain free ever again, or am I DOOMED?

Am I in danger of yet another, much worse stroke or mini-stroke attacking me?

I A TERRIFIED after reading your query!

You DID notice the improvement in my speech since right after my stroke, right?
I will call Dr. XXXXXXX Cramer, but can you put in a word for him to me too? I got Medicare / Medicaid, so I will have to depend on his compassion, probably.

(BEFORE my stroke, leading up to it, even WITH Traz my sleep SUCKED! Every so often I'd STILL get less than an hour of sleep a night. I was ALWAYS getting up to piss five to eight times a night. AFTER the stroke, I think it KILLED that part of my brain that was wired to stay awake and overactivate my bladder, as my sleep has returned to it's "normal".

While in jail for 45 days, they refused to give me TRAZ. ONLY on my first night I still got enough sleep to have a good dream. After that, when I went to bed at 11 instead of 4, I slept like a baby, but... After 30 days I began waking up 30 minutes or so before I wanted to wake u - back to the same old shit.

I got home and went back on the Traz, so terrified of having sleepless nights, now that I was out of jail and could stay up late again)

In mid-2014 I began having a chilled tingling down my right lower forearm to my hand, and a ticklish sensation under my right armpit, which became muscle spasms late one night. I started taking Cyclobenzaprine for months, and after getting the first of three Epidurals in my back I'd wake up feeling SO REFRESHED for many weeks!

But then, I got hit by a car on my bicycle. My low back is in constant pain. Can pulsed electromagnetic field therapy alleviate this, and what cities have this?

I have herniated, bulging disks in both my neck and back.
Forgot to mention, although the ringing in my ears comes on and off, it was unbearable for a time when I was using the Cycobenzaprine.

I'd think that caused the permanent ringing except for the two eparate times I woke up a month or so before with ringingg in the ears (Before I took my first Cyclo

Hi

Thanks for writing back

1. Atherosclerosis is treated by giving combination of statins and anti platelet medicines (aspirin). Anti hypertensives are prescribed if there is any associated increase in blood pressure.
2. The atherosclerosis or the narrowing of the blood vessels is assessed by angiography.
3. The medicines I mentioned above holds good for the treatment of plaques.
4. No, the thinning of vessels will not kill you in any way, it's highly impossible.
5. Trust me, you will definitely get better. But, it varies between each individual and the extent of damage caused to the brain following
6. It is difficult to answer whether you are at the risk of having an another stroke. If you are under proper treatment and care, you may not have another stroke.
7. I am sorry! If any of my answers has disturbed you. I have not mentioned anything which is going to scare you. I wanted you to understand your problem so that you can be relaxed. Your symptoms will gradually alleviate over a period of time.
8. There was obvious improvement in your speech in the second video. As I mentioned in my earlier response, a speech pathologist can help you to overcome the minor difficulties.
9. I got the name of Dr. XXXXXXX Cramer after some research, I do not know him personally. It would be wiser for you to contact him directly so that he can understand your problem or else you can request your treating doctor to give a referral to him.
10. Vestibular rehabilitation exercises are the ones which are performed to overcome the problems of dysequilibrium.

Cawthorne Cooksey exercises mentioned in this link is the one which you need to perform to reduce the dizziness and imbalance.
11. Electromagnetic therapy has shown some promising results in the post stroke patients. You can definitely try this centre:
Neuromodulation Lab, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital
Address:     79/96 13th Street Charlestown M.A. 02129, USA
Telephone number: 617.952.6153
12. Cyclobenzaprine is a muscle relaxant which is also used in the treatment of tinnitus. But, unfortunately it was not effective for you. Don't worry! Short term treatment with cyclobenzaprine does not cause any complications such as death.
13.The transient blockage of the blood vessels doesn't cause any cell death. During this episode, the cells will be devoid of oxygen for a moment, but, once the circulation improves, the cell gets rejuvenated. In most of the occasions there will not be any cell death. As you are already on medicines to improve the blood circulation, there is no need to fear.
14. Please do not stop the BP medicines unless your doctor advises so. Moderate increase in BP can improve the micro blood circulation, but, when it exceeds a limit, it starts damaging the walls of the blood vessels leading to formation of atherosclerotic plaques. This will further weaken the walls of the blood vessels. Hence, BP should always be under normal limits for effective blood circulation.
15. Trust me, you will definitely get better when you are more relaxed, accept the reality and cope up with it. Stress and depression will actually worsen your present problems. I pray God to help you to recover faster.

May god bless you. Wish you good health and speedy recovery.

WHEW!

Thanks!

My main goal, first, is to get rid of this sensation that there is something growing behind my right eye. It tends to weaken the peripheral vision and when I lay flat on my stomach with my head turned lying flat on the back, with my left eye closed and looking back at the TV with my right eye, the screen sometimes quivers...

I am surwe this is not due to my stroke as my right-eye vision bean to get funky several months before my stroke, which I attributed to too much computwer spades.

The funky-unpleasant feeling behind my right eye tends to make me feel fatigued. It is worse after I get up (at 12 to 1 P.M.) until I go ut and ride my bicycle and only AFTER I have eaten at the buffet and left does it begin to improve.) Damnedst shit I veer had. WHAT is THAT?

I feel half robust wanting to LIVE, and half-rotten all the time.

The Librium keps me from feeling that"head-sickness" with spells of feeling like I would right before passing out.

Could it be poor blood flow / low blood pressure drops causing those?
default
Follow up: Dr. Dr. Naveen Kumar Nanjasetty (8 minutes later)
First time I felt tthat "passy out feeling" was a month after the stroke, @ home, while cooking some toast.

Next time I felt it was @ the buffet. I had come out of the restroom washing my hands (holding my head down, as I began to notice every time I came out of the restroom seemingly magically I would begin to feel woozy.)

A few months later I would notice I was always feeling "under the weather" from my head. It got slowly worse. I would be sitting down feeling shitty, but when I would get up to go to the soda fountain, I would have two or three spells like waves wash over my head, but I knew I would now not pass out. I'd go to the ER and they'd give me Attivan which would cause the "head-sickness" to immediately begin to improve and I'd feel normal again.

Were it not for my Librium (I went from Attivan to Xanax, then to Librium in jail) my life would be a constant hell.

Is THIS the deequalibrium you are talkking about that vestibular rehabilitation would help ease so I can get off the Librium once and for all.

Can I EVER bget my full ability to rap again?

Brief Answer:
Visual disturbances could be related to brain stem injury following stroke.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for writing back

1. You have consulted your ophthalmologist already, who has given a clean chit regarding any pathology in the eyes. Then the problem could be most probably in the connections from the eye to brain.

As I mentioned in my earlier responses, the stroke could have damaged the brain stem which is responsible for the visual disturbances as well as balance related issues.

According to you, these visual errors were present even before the onset of stroke. The long term staring at the computer may be one of the reasons, but, here again your vision is normal. Hence, I presume the earlier visual errors could be a part of impending stroke.

2. The funky feeling in the eye is because of the reduced blood supply to the brain while resting. And, once you start becoming active you will feel better because of the improved blood circulation to all parts of the body, including brain.

3. The feeling of lethargy combined with wanting to live could be attributed to either the medicines you are taking or stroke per se. It is difficult to pin point as to which one could be causing this.

4. The feeling of dizziness following use of rest room could be a micturition pre-syncope.The underlying cause of micturition syncope is thought to be related to vasovagal stimulation with hypotension and possibly bradycardia (reduced heart beat). This is due to straining. When you go to the rest room you invariably exert pressure over the abdomen and the bladder becomes hyper reflexive thus triggering the pre-syncopal or syncopal attacks.

This is not going get better with vestibular rehabilitation. Vestibular rehabilitation is advised for those conditions wherein, you feel dizzy or lose balance while walking or doing the routine work.

5. Your doctor is the best person to decide whether to give any alternatives to Lyrica.

6. Yes flashing lights can be really disturbing to the eyes, as the inputs and outputs to the brain are mismatched.

7. Bulging or herniated discs can make the para spinal muscles stiff and induce sore neck.

Hope this clears your doubts.

May god bless you. Wish you good health and speedy recovery.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Welcome back

1. Trust me, you will definitely get better over a period of time. You need to have patience and avoid depression. Avoid unnecessary drugs and keep the medicines to minimum possible.

2. I'm sorry, I got your question wrong. Bending the spine forward pinches the vertebrae closer in front and farther apart in back, creating unequal pressure that over time, wedges and squeezes discs rearward and outward. A disc nearly always bulges toward the back of the spine out the enlarged space, thus compressing the nerves. This is the chief cause of your discomfort. While sitting and standing straight would make more space for the nerves without the herniating force, your symptoms improve gradually.

Thus, this problem can be rectified with the physiotherapy of the neck by an expert chiropractitioner.

Hope this clarifies your doubts. Wish you good health.
