Question : Yesterday, I ate some food from the microwave and it was extremely hot, i managed to get it down with a lot of cold water. It has been about 12 hours and I have a very uncomfortable feeling in my throat and it hurts when I eat. should i seek medical attention
Brief Answer:
No harm in meeting a gastroenterologist
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I am DR Mittal
I have read your query.
The possibility is high that the hot food has scalded your GI tract.
There is never any harm in meeting a doctor.
You can meet a gastroenterologist to be sure.
Meanwhile, I would suggest syrup sucralfate 3 tsf 4 times a day.
The idea is that it will cover the raw mucosa, and give it time to heal.
Also, take soft or fluid diet in the duration.
It will give the tract time to heal.
I hope that it helps.
Please feel free to contact us for more information.
Best of luck
