What Causes Discomfort Pimple On Groin Area After Having Non-veg?

default
Posted on Sat, 14 Mar 2015
Question: I am Male , weight 78 height 5feet 9 inch and I have a small pimple in the leg near to cut of underwear(briefs) , this happened to me before as well whenever i eat lots of non-veg and whenever outside weather increases or when i have lots of heavy food for last 1 -2 weeks and when i travel a lot. It goes away in 3 -4 days but it is very uncomfortable as it is in an area which is more prone to have rashes because of me wearing briefs. I am worried as it is the second time it happened to me in the same area , it gets completely eradicated in next few days but i dont know why it happens and what should i do to avoid such situation. I did visit doctor last time , he asked me to not to use abzorb(clotrimazole dusting powder). It is little hard if i touch but i have not seen any pus fomation in that area. Kindly suggest if any medication is required for future , i am sure by the time i get response it would get recovered however on a safer side i need you to tell me suggested medications and precaustions to be taken for the same.

Hello,

Thank you for posting on HCM.

I can understand your concern regarding the recurrent skin lesions.

From the history, it seems you are having a bacterial infection called folliculitis but its difficult to point specific diagnosis in absence of clinical examination.

Therefore, I insist you to post good clinical pictures to me so that I can help you in a better way.

Brief Answer:
Oral and topical antibiotics

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have reviewed the pictures.
It seems you have got intertrigo.
Intertrigo is an infection which occurs over any opposing skin surfaces , mostly seen over groin folds. Its caused due to bacterial or sometimes fungal infection.
Overweight can increase the friction and thus predispose to intertrigo.

I would suggest you a short course of oral antibiotics (Tab. Erythromycin 500mg four times a day for 5 days). You will need a doctors prescription for it. Mix and apply antibiotic cream like fusidic acid and antifungal cream like clotrimazole twice a day for few weeks.

Use dusting powder containing clotrimazole on daily basis to keep area dry and reduce friction.

Try to reduce weight and maintain hygiene.

Avoid tight undergarments and use cotton garments as far as possible.

Hope this will help you
Take care

Brief Answer:
Take pantoprazole and domperidone tablet

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The gastric upset could be due to antibiotics.
Nothing to worry just take a combination of pantoprazole and Domperidone in morning empty stomach to prevent such symptoms.
Use of loose undergarments and proper maintainence of hygiene will prevent the recurrence.
Take care
