Question : I tried for the first time to have sex on Metoprolol I became light headed and could not continue is this normal is the drug fighting a natural rise in my heart rate and blood pressure. I take 50 mg once daily in am. Also take 50 mg of Benicar.

Light headedness is often a side effect of metoprolol. It tends to get better after a week or two of taking this drug. However if you are facing light headedness while getting up from bed or standing for long hours then I recommend that the dose of metoprolol is reduced.

I also recommend you to keep a blood pressure monitoring machine at home, when you get light headed check you blood pressure. Sometimes blood pressure is over corrected with drugs causing light headedness
