What Causes Dizziness After Taking Lisinopril?

default
Posted on Wed, 28 Sep 2016
Question: I have been on Lisinopril 20mg for many years, and for the past year and a half have been dizzy almost every day. It starts in the morning, which is when I take the Lisinopril, and goes away late in the afternoon. My doctors, PC, ENT, Gastro doc and neurologist haven't come up with any answers. What do you think?

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would recommend switching from lisinopril to another drug of this class ( berlipril) or ARB ( valsartan, telmisartan,etc,.).

As you refer other possible causes of dizziness have been excluded.

So, as you see a connection between your troubles and lisinopril intake, the next step to do would be switch to another therapy.

If your symptoms are relieved by the change in the therapy, it means that your symptoms are an adverse effect of lisinopril.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
