Posted on Mon, 8 Dec 2014
Question: Background

Well,it all started in the year 2011 3years back where i used to feel Dizzy often(once in 2 months) and i thot it might be due to dehydration or my stomach is empty.
i used to rest for a while and the dizziness would disappear
As the days passed i felt unsteady and my balance was affected i could not stand straight but my body used to keep shaking/jerking
my unsteadiness turned worst that it was very hard for me to sit before the computer even when i sit i used to have unsteadiness.or gait problem.

Ive seen different doctors like CMC hospital ,st Johns etc etc they said its vertigo and i have problem with my inner ear which affected my balance.

i lost all the hope and i got married in 2013 December jus 10months back, after which i started feeling tingling sensation all over My body
with severe fatigue and weak, i couldnt even go alone anywhere as the tingling turned worst and i got scared and started devaloping fear and nervousness.

i went to a small clinic and their Doc said to test B12 and i found that it was 350 and doc said this is the causeand gave me b12 shots for a week and left it
i felt better my balance problem started to improve and i forgot about it as i felt better but never knew nor the Doc said that i should take the supplements.
And after 2 months again i felt very weak and tinglish
i went to Manipal hospital and there the Doc diagnoised that my vitb12 was jus 220 and my vitamin D was 14..

he started the below medicines and i started them on Aug 23rd
*****************************************************************

Rejunuron 500mcg injection for 6 weeks weekly once
Arachitol 6lakhs for vit d deficiency for 6 weeks aweekly once
and along with the below supplements for 3 months

BECOSULES Z capsule in the morning after breakfast (which has 15mcg of b12)
Shelcal 500mg in the Afternoon after lunch (250IU of Vit D)
Pregalin Sr 75 in the night after dinner

For sure i can feel much improvement in my balance and i started feeling better

i started these medicines 2months back
i feel so nervous and panic, andmy legs and palms feel so weak
i feel lethargic with tingling sensation and nervousness.

And will all the above symptoms disappear ?? and how long it would take for the below symptoms caused due to vit b12 deficiency ?
And also is there any good b12 supplement that i can use like higher doses since in becosules Z amount of b12 is jus 15mscg.
like any imported Supplement of 1000mcg that in can use?
Please advise
the symptoms drives me crazy i cant be as normal person
Since initially the symptom started with dizziness 3 yrs back and slowly progressed to unsteady gait and now muscle weakness/ tingling , nervousness . Can all these symptoms be reversed??cos I started the right medication jus 2months back.

Brief Answer:
You would get better.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

I have noted your symptoms and would like to assure you that your symptoms would get better and you would be a normal person again. You need to have patience and positive outlook to become normal sooner.

Exact timeframe can not be fixed, as improvement period varies from a few months to a few years.

You can take MECONEURON OD which contains 1500 mcg, once daily. This should be continued for long, even after vitamin B12 levels become normal.

In addition, you should do regular exercises, may be join a gym, under the guidance of a trainer.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,

Brief Answer:
You should get it from a chemist or local doctor.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

You should be able to get MECONEURON OD from a chemist without prescription, as it is a vitamin supplement.

This other formulation I am not aware of.

Thanks again for your reply!!!
Since m taking BEcosules Z capsule now can I take Meconueron also along with that??if so when it should be taken , as I take becosules z in the morning.
How long I need to take Meconueron ?? 3 months or 6 months?

Well I have a question is dizziness a first/starting symptom of b12 deficiency?? Cos that's the only symptom I had initially which slowly progressed to unsteady gait.and lately with tingling and weakness.
If you see my symptoms for nearly 2.5 yrs I suffered with unsteady gait but there was no weakness , tingling all these started jus 5 months back,? So does it take so long (2.5yrs)for tingling and weakness to reflect after dizziness/unsteady gait?

Brief Answer:
You can take both together.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

You can take both becosules Z and meconeuron OD. You can take meconeuron OD in the evening. Better to continue it for six months.

There is no fixed sequence of symptoms in vitamin B12 deficiency. Some people get tingling first, some get dizziness or imbalance, some others get memory loss. So, your sequence of symptoms can occur with vitamin B12 deficiency.

Hi I've started 1500mcg of b12 as suggested..started it on Friday and I feel tinglish on my right leg and hand and also anxiety levels are increased . Is this the side effect?? Will this subside??the tingling sensation is irritating.. Is this a normal reaction towards high doses of b12??

Brief Answer:
It will subside.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

Tingling may occur when recovery of damaged nerves start. So, there is no need to worry. This would subside soon.

If tingling is troublesome, then, pregabalin capsules may be taken to reduce the sensation.
