Question : My 63 yr old husband had surgery 2 1/2 wks ago. He had 18" removed from his large intestine. A couple of days ago we were getting amorous and he ejaculated. Immediately afterward, he got light headed, dizzy, nauseous, shaky. It lasted all day and into the next. This happened a couple of times before his surgery also. I'm very nervous about this, he doesn't seem too concerned. What could it be that is making him feel this way?

hi and welcome
Detailed Answer:
This s not strange symptom and it could be related to surgery because fluid can accumulate inside abdomen and press prostate and it can cause systemic sympathetic response such as dizziness, nausea, blood pressure changes etc. This can also be related to prostate enlargement so he should check this out.thirdly,it could be sign of blood pressure abnormality or neurologic disorders but in most cases this cant be anything serious and he should just be patient and wait few more weeks till intraabdominal wounds stabilize. Wish you good health.regards

He does have an enlarged prostate. He has had it checked out. If the problem doesn't go away, when should we be worried?

Detailed Answer:
Wait for 2 more weeks till digestion stabilize. It can also be side effect of certain mediciens if he is taking it. Just be patient, this wont cause serious consequances. If it persist after 2 weeks he should repeat prostate ultrasound, PSA and abdominal CT scan.
