Posted on Fri, 14 Aug 2015
Question: I need to consult about heat exhaustion and possibility it turning more severe. I had exposure to sun about 4 hours. While there I got dizzy and had rapid heartbeat but after spending some time indoors and cooling body I was fine. About 6 hours after I got chills and had minor fever. skin feels cool but not clammy. only chest area feels warmer, I have mild headache, no swelling, feeling thirsty but its releved by drinking more, mild dizziness but not severe. My question is can it turn to heat stroke or these are just symptoms of sun exposure. Heartbeat is ok for now

Brief Answer:
Will not progress to heat stroke

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for your query.
Heat exhaustion in your case will not progress to heat stroke as you are not continuing to expose yourself to the sun and you are taking sufficient fluids to be adequately hydrated.
Mild headache, dizziness and feeling cold will pass with time. So don't worry.
