Question : I am a 39 year old female. I have been having pain on the right side of my chest to my shoulder blade and my armpit off and on for years. For the past two months I have also been experiencing dizzyness, coming more frequently. Two days ago I became so dizzy that I went to my family doctor and he said my heartbeat was too fast and diagnosed me with anxiety. He prescribed zoloft. The symptoms only worsened so yesterday I went to the ER. There they checked me for a blood clot, lab tested me for CBC with differential, Innovance D-Dimer, Iron Profile, Qualitative pregnancy, Troponin T, Urinalysis, CT scan on my head and a hooked me up to a holter monitor for 48 hours. during the night I woke up with a stabbing pain on the right side of my chest that went all the way through to my back. My doctors office was closed and I called the ER and was basically told I could come back in if I wanted to but acted like all I wanted was pain medicine. I do not want pain medicine, I do not want anxiety medicine, I want to know what is wrong with me. Any Ideas????

Hello and Welcome
I appreciate your concern
If the investigations you mentioned didn't yield a positive result then a cardiac cause is unlikely for this pain.
Kindly answer the following to advise accordingly
Is the area involved in the pain, tender to touch
Does the pain worsen with position change
Have you used any psychiatric medications in the past
Do you have a previous history of such episodes or is this the first episode of its kind.
Wishing you best of health
Thanks
