Brief Answer:
pristiq discontinuation syndrome.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.

I Can understand your concerns.

Stopping pristiq abruptly can cause discontinuation syndrome. This include symptoms like dizziness, irritability, brain fog, mood swings and disturbed sleep.

The severity of these symptoms usually decrease by 5-7 days after stopping the drug. But the symptoms may last upto 1 month.

If your symptoms persist, please consider restarting pristiq.

Brintellix should show its effects in 4-6 weeks.

I think your symptoms are all due to stopping pristiq.
Drink lots of water. Eat healthy food including green vegetables and fruits. Avoid caffeinated drinks as this may worsen your symptoms.

Unfortunately, antidepressants cause such side effects. They increase the levels of neurohormones in depression.
Every individual responses differently to every drug.
And then, depression and anxiety are relapsing disorders. This makes the situation more complicated.

I hope you get well soon.

Kindly discuss this with your doctor.

Feel free to ask further for more queries.

Take care.
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
consider a gradual tapering down of pristiq.

Detailed Answer:
I understand that the two drugs weren't working for you.

I mean to say is, if you have bothersome discontinuation symptoms, you can restart pristiq 50 and consider more slow tapering.
You can drop to 25 mg for a week and then stop.
This will prevent or ease down your symptoms of discontinuation.

You can simultaneously continue with brintellix.

Do Keep your doctor informed about this.

Take care.
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
25mg tablet is available.

Detailed Answer:
Yes it is extended release.

But it available in strength of 25mg as well.

So you can taper down to 25mg tablet, take it for around a week and then stop.

Regards.
