Question: feeling very dizzy in the morning and unsteady. As the day goes on I feel a little better.
50 years old, female work out 4 times a week and have started feeling very dizzy during workouts when I need to get up off the mat after doing abs or stretching. Have hypothyroidism ny perscription was recently changed to a smaller dose of synthroid.

Brief Answer:
?? Suspecting hyperthyroidism, please speak to your doctor and investigate

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. I would like to first ask why the dosage of thyroid medications was recently reduced?

With hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) TSH levels are usually increased, but if your recent TSH levels indicated closer to normal levels or decreased levels which is why your doctor thought you might be getting too much of synthyroid and reduced your medication dosage, I could probably explain the occurrence of the dizziness.

Dizziness is usually seen with hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) which is the exact opposite of what you were diagnosed with. Probably due to medication or other factors, your thyroid hormones may have changed resulting in a decrease which may be causing hyperthyroidism and and in turn the dizziness.

I hope you find my response helpful ma'am. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

My best wishes.
