Question : My son is 15, at basketball practice today he experienced Hard to catch his breath, vision disturbance, dizziness headache behind his eyes, pain similar to a running cramp in his side. He has had a cold but has been not coughing as much the last three days.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Dizziness, vision disturbance, headaches in your son's case were caused by temporary impairment of brain supply with oxygen (hypoxemia).

Both conditions (cold with coughing and insufficient food) contribute to this temporary brain dysfunction.

It is necessary for your son to rest for few days, rich diet, plenty of fluids and an evaluation by your son's GP or Pediatrician about extension of a possible respiratory tract infection.
