What Causes Dizziness, Imbalance, Weakness In Legs And Mild Tingling?

default
Posted on Mon, 2 Mar 2015
Question: My head feels woozy and I am unsteady on my feet. My legs are weak and they tingle mildly. The condition normally improves in the afternoon and evening. However, in the mornings I am quite weak and woozy. Last night I had what seemed like a bolt of lightning rushing through my entire body, beginning in the feet and ending with a loud and somewhat painful thump at the shoulders. I did fall asleep again.

Brief Answer:
Clinical and imaging evaluation needed.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Feeling woozy, unsteadiness and weakness on feet could be related to neurological conditions such Dementia, Normal pressure hydrocephalus, Vertigo, Blood pressure changes ( orthostatic hypotension) etc.

The feeling of lightning through the legs and spine, tingling in feet is more related to rheumatological condition of your vertebral column and legs ( Arthritis).

In my opinion there is need to consult a Neurologist and discuss above mentioned possibilities of your symptoms and tests needed in order to achieve a correct diagnosis.

If I was your treating Doctor,I would test your blood count, rheumatoid factor, metabolic panel and ask for a brain MRI and vertebral column x-rays.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
