What Causes Dizziness Post An Accident?

default
Posted on Mon, 11 Apr 2016
Question: Had some dizziness on and off today. Now when I bend my head down I feel dizzy. I took my blood pressure throughout the day and it was any where between 140 over 83 or slightly lower. I am concerned
about the dizziness since I am pre-diabetic with A1C of6.4 and not on any diabetic meds. I have neck problems from a auto accident, could this create the dizziness and the accident was years ago. Never had
this problem before?????

Brief Answer:
it could be vertigo

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Dizziness occuring after bending forwards or moving of head could be related to the balance system which is present in our inner ears.
The fluid in the ears is responsible for feeling of dizziness.
I do not feel it could be because of the prior accident or diabetes or even hypertension.
I would like to advice you to get a prescription for tablet containing betahistine hydrochloride 16mg and have it twice a day for 5 days. Your local physician will know about this drug.

If it still persists after that then you need to consult ENT surgeon as you might require what we call is apley's maneuver which consists of equalizing the fluids in ears.

I hope this will answer your query. If you have any questions kindly ask me back.
Thank you
