Hello,
For a 81 yr old this could be emergency. Dizziness, vertigo and black out spells indicate cutting out of blood supply to the parts of the brain that carry sensations to ear and eye. There may be a clot or volley of clots that ruptured and carried to distal arteries. This may be seen on MRI scan of the brain.
I feel this should be reached to hospital for evaluation and observation. Although no active interventions may be planned but observation under intensive care is need of the hour.
