Question : Just found out that my drug(benicar hct) to control my hypertension is making me dizzy, weak and a upper respatory infection. How long do I have to wait to switch to another appropriate drug to control my blood pressure?

My opinion is that you should discuss immediately with your doctor to switch from Benicar to another preparation that doesn't have dizziness as a side effects.

If you were my patient I would start a water pill and amlodipin to keep your BP under control.
