What Causes Dizziness When Suffering From Heart Disease?

Question: Hi Dr.
I will be 62 in July. I had my first minor TIA Stroke on 12/25/08, minor side physical affects are feeling callouses on the tip of a finger . I am currently taking Simvastatin 10Mg., Hydrocholorothaizide Tab 25mg.,Losatan Potassium 50Mg. and fish oil.
My husband and I will be flying from San XXXXXXX CA. to Houston and a flight connection from Houston to Amsterdam. The long total hours of these flights will be 12 to 13 hours. I am concerned about the long hours on the plane.
In the past I had flown from Houston to NYC. on a 5 hours flight, and I experienced the first 4 days with dizziness, light headed. Last year, I took 6 hours flight from San XXXXXXX to Maui and again I experienced dizziness the first few days in Maui.
I'm wondering if the long hours flight have anything to do with my dizziness.
And I would like to know what I should be wearing , such as socks and do during my long flights this coming summer to Amsterdam.
Thanks for your help Dr., any advice will be appreciated.

Brief Answer:
flying would not be dangerous
Detailed Answer:
Dear
thanks for sharing your concern with us.
It is clear that you are suffering from brain hypoperfusion, probably from carotid artery stenosis.
Anyway I don't think there will be any dangerous attack provoked from flying.
You should absolutely take antiaggregant therapy such as aspirin 100-300mg (discuss about the right dose with your neurologist) and wear pressure socks during flight.
It is recommended that your blood pressure during flight remain between 130-140mmhg to 80-90mmhg.
You will be fine don't worry
Hope my answer helps you

Thanks Dr. Ranxha.
What socks do you recommend me to wear during the long flight hours?
So with the dizzy symptoms on my arrival destination, I will always experience the light headed and dizzy symptoms? What do you recommend me to do to avoid these symptoms?
Are you working from India?
