Question : I get very dizzy while eating my food and become bloated. I went off of gluten two weeks ago so I thought my GI system would respond well but instead I am having the reverse happen. probiotic gave me more gas pains. I have been diagnosed with hashimotos thyroiditis and currently working on a regimen for that. In addition I have a small ventral hernia. I did not seek surgical treatment because it was not bothering me until I started having bloating, gas, and abdominal pain and water retention. Energy level good. going to endocrinologist tomorrow and he may refer me to a GI doc, Not sure if its a GI thing or a thyroid problem?
LABS:
thyroid antibodies peroxidase-138
ferritin-20
vitamin D 27
CBC and CMP normal

Before running into final conclusions, I need to know if the symptoms you are experiencing have initiated after starting therapy with nature thyroid ?

I want to know if you have run any other examination like :

- abdominal ultrasound
- fecal examination/culture?

They are important in determining the final diagnosis .

I need to have these info first before referring to the specialist.

the ultrasound I had just determined that I had a ventral hernia 5cm

I have had no culture of stool done

If I was your caring doctor would advise to run further diagnostic tests before giving final conclusions:
- malabsorption test
- Culture of feces

With regards to ventral hernia, it won't give any problem taking into account its size.
