Posted on Tue, 29 Nov 2016
Question: I've had an off balance feeling and dizzy spells for the last two years. I've had two ct scans to rule out brain tumors or brain bleeds. Both came back clean. What could be causing this?

Brief Answer:
Inner ear dysfunction.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Most common cause of dizzy spells and off-balance is benign positional paroxysmal vertigo, a condition related to inner ear dysfunction.

Ménière's disease may be another condition that may cause such symptoms.

Since brain imaging studies resulted negative, you shouldn't worry about anything serious cerebral condition.

It is necessary to get evaluated by an ENT Doctor and to have tests such electronystagmography etc. in order to diagnose correctly your condition.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Greetings.
