default
Posted on Wed, 11 Mar 2015
Question: I was just at an eye doctor off and told him my of my double vision, and that for the last three weeks, have taken Lipozene to help reduce my weight . 15 lbs have come off, but in the last 10 days, have the vision issues. Eye doctor felt with the weight lost, double vision, thirst, and urinations...that I probably am diabetic.

Am I at the stage of insulin injections?

I have no documents from the blood test that was taken yesterday, 2/5/15.

Brief Answer:
It appears like nerve palsy caused by diabetes.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic

I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an Ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.

I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you are having double vision.

Double vision needs to be evaluated.
The first step is to note, whether double vision is seen only on opening both the eyes and disappears on closing one eye or present even with one being kept open.

If the double vision is present only on opening both the eyes called as binocular double vision or diplopia, then it is called by nerve palsies as in diabetes, hypertension, atherosclerosis....

Most of these will recover over three months and treatment is done for the underlying cause like diabetes....

Hence blood tests and other investigations are required.

Usually insulin injections are required in type 1 diabetes and advanced stages of type 2 diabetes.

Hence most probably you does not require insulin injections now.

But the diagnosis needs to be confirmed first and appropriate anti diabetic drugs needs to be started.

Hence I advice you to consult your physician for treatment of diabetes.

Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you.

Thank you
With regards
