Posted on Mon, 3 Aug 2015
Question: My father has been diagnosed with PD-currently symptoms are only trembling of hands, Dr. says that it is first stage PD- age is 67 years;

He has been told to take Ropark, Rasalect and pacetane.

I understand pacetane is for Anxiety which he is uncomfortable taking and has taken only Ropark, Rasalect as prescribed for the last 2 months
There has been considerable change ( reduced stiffness), trembling continues though, However he is dazed and there are signs of low energy levels all the time.

Kindly advise.

Brief Answer:
Pacitane is for Parkinsonian tremors.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

Pacitane is the drug of choice for Parkinsonian tremors.This drug was prescribed here for tremors and not for anxiety.Trembling could have improved,if your father would have taken this drug.

Your father's prescription is fine and he should adhere to treatment.So,he can start pacitane now.

Hope that I have answered your query.If you have some further questions, I shall be glad to have you in follow up else please close the thread,rate it and write a review as your rating will be of help to me.
