Can be most likely due to a viral respiratory infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely due to viral respiratory infection. Taking rest and symptomatic treatment is the initial management for this. You can take chewable vitamin c , citrus fruits . You should also take more fluids. You can take warm chicken soup with pepper, tea with lemon and honey etc. Avoid advil as it canffurther decrease platelet count in viral hemorrhagic fever. You can take paracetamol , anti histamines like cetrizine ( zyrtec ) . You can also do steam inhalation and gargling with warm saline.
After 3 days you should do blood routine examination including platelet count and urine routine examination.
Usually viral respiratory infection will take around 1 week to clear up. If there is no improvement or worsening consult your GP as it can be due to secondary bacterial infection and in such case antibiotic therapy will be needed.
Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.
