What Causes Dry Mouth After Kidney Stone Removal?

Question: I had a kidney stone removed in my left side and stents put in each side because i have another stone in left. This was7 days ago. I now have very dry mouth and can barely talk and itching on my back and stomach. Is this a bad XXXXXXX something? I am due to havr stents removed in 3 days.

Brief Answer: Symptoms are not related to stents. Detailed Answer: Hello Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have been operated for kidney stone on left side and put stents on both sides .Now you have dryness of the mouth,itching over back I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem. 1) Did you have stones in Kidney or ureter ? 2)Was your blood urea and serum creatinine levels raised before surgery.? 3)Do you have fever and vomiting? 4) How much is the urine output in24 hours.? Your symptoms looks to be due to either side effect of medicines that you may be taking after surgery or it may be due to raise blood urea and creatinine levels. Please get your renal function tests done to rule out the same. Take antacids like Pantaprazole twice daily along with antibiotics .. Ensure to drink more water.To keep your urine dilute and flush out urinary system. This will get resolved within 4-5 days.
