What Causes Dry Patch Of Skin On The Chin?

default
Posted on Wed, 12 Apr 2017
Question: Hello. I am just a little concerned with some irritation on the two sides of the area above my chin and below my mouth. It is pretty mild and hoping maybe it is just dry skin but thought I would show you a picture just to see what you thought. Thanks. Also I am on Prozac so i guess it may be a sight side effect of the medication.

Just to help you see even better it is the area without hair on the lower area. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Either dry skin or nonspecific dermatitis, cortisone cream

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
I have reviewed the attached photograph and it seems to be either patch of dry skin or a nonspecific dermatitis.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to apply topical steroid like cortisone cream on the affected areas twice daily for 7-8 days.
This should resolve it.
Moreover it doesn't seem to be a side effect of prozac.

Dr Asmeet
