Question : Hi Doctor, here is my problem:

May 12, 13 and 25: I was in Brazil last month where I had sex with 4 prostitutes on dated mentioned. I always used condoms and checked after sex whether there is any breakage or not and found none. But gave women oral sex(Licked there vagina).
XXXXXXX 1: I had a dry, white coated and hairy tongue with dry throat. Visited a doctor, who gave me hexamedine oral spray.
XXXXXXX 3: I was concerned about the issue so I got tested for all STDs, used 4th Gen Duo test, they all came back negative (This test was done at 7 days and 20 days after the sex encounters)
XXXXXXX 10: My tongue issue didnt go away so I visited the doctor, he said its an allergic reaction and said its tonsillitis nothing to worry. and he gave me anti-histamin.
XXXXXXX 24: I had a swollen node exactly infront on my right ear with pain in it and swelling exactly below both the ear and between jawline, painless. I visited the doctor again and told him about the sex encounters, he got concerned but told me that its unlikely they are related, but gave me a shot of steroids to bring the swelling down.
I requested him to do all the tests again(6 weeks and 4 weeks after the encounter), awaiting results.
XXXXXXX 27: My throat is little choky in the back end, and I have slightly blocked naustrals like a cold/flu. The swelling in front of the ear is gone, no fever, no other pain, just a swelling below the ears.

My fear has affected my sleep, I have tremors in my whole body because of the anxiety. Can you please advise do I need to worry based on my symptoms and the timeline.

Thanks for using healthcare magic.

I understand your concerns as they are very closely related with timeline which indicates something grievous. None of your concern is groundless and it's very usual to have panic symptoms following sexual encounter with prostitutes.
If you would have presented this query without getting tested I would have given very different answer from what I will be giving now.

My observations to your problem is as follows
1. There is negligible possibility that you acquired HIV infection.
2. Your symptoms in last four weeks match many of the symptoms which are found immediately after HIV exposure but things which gives a much relief and almost complete assurance are
A. You used condom and you made it sure that there was no rupture or breakage
B. Risk of HIV transmission with oral sex with woman is almost nil
C. Your complete report with all normal is the best bet that makes me sure for my conclusion
D. You already visited doctor and he did not found anything problematic
E. You already taken level 4 investigations and that almost rules out any possibility as they can detect the infection as early as one week.
F. Symptoms of acute HIV infection are generalized rather than localized as in your case.

3. To get double sure there is no harm in ordering the test second time
4. Like HIV there is no possibility to other Sexually transmitted diseases
5. Your current symptoms are most likely a viral illness that will go away without use of any antibiotic (probably)

To conclude although you are waiting for the test reports but I like to assure you beforehand that there is no need to worry and at this moment you can try different methods of stress management.
