My husband recently started complaining of a dull ache near his lower left abdominal area, just above his hip bone. It hurts if you press on it. He has no other symptoms, urination is normal (although he does not drink enough water, his urine is usually on the darker side). Bowel movements seem to be normal and regular.
He has seen his doctor and is going through the necessary tests. However I am just wondering what the possible problem could be. Any information would help
Thanks
Left lower abdominal ache?Colitis
Detailed Answer:
Provisional Diagnosis-Left lower abdominal ache? mild Colitis
Hi,Dear,Thanks for the query to HCM virtual Clinic.
I studied your query to full details updated from you and understood your health concerns for your husband.
In my opinion,he seems to have mild colitis.
I would advise you to check his stool by concentration method and Urine with microscopic examination.
Though his bowel movements are normal, does he pass mucus?does he pass more gases? What about his sleep?is it undisturbed?
Possibility of Urinary tract infection needs to be ruled out.
Please update your lab and USG reports after which I would advise you final treatment with needful lifestyle for it.
Welcome for any further query and information in this regard,so that I could help you out to my best.
Advise-
Plenty of fluids/ Bland high fiber diet/ Skimmed butter milk x 2 times per day/Less of fried food / less of alcohol, smoking, tobacco, tea, coffee, would recoup his body for fast recovery.
Don't worry much and report your test results for further treatment.
Hope this would resolve your current worries.
Have a good day.
I await any further query in this regard.
