Question : i have had a dull pain on the left side of my face for a over a month--the area affected is above tooth 15 and is dull toward my left temple---from time to time it feels like an ear ache---it feels as if someone is taking their thumb and pushing slightly under my eye socket. I had a root canal one month ago. been back for follow ups --prescribed anti biotics---no symptom change. Feels as if the area is slightly spreading.

Brief Answer:
Get examined by a Neurologist and take medications as advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concern.
If the tooth involved was on upper side, then a possibility of maxillary sinusitis should be considered and an x-ray face required.
Another possibility may be temporomandibular joint disease.
The third possibility may be trigeminal neuralgia.

If X-rays are normal, you need to visit a Neurologist for examination and evaluation.
Amitriptyline, pregabalin or gabapentin can be tried for relief.

Hope you found the answer helpful.
Do get back to me for further information.
