Question : Hi, I am a 48 year old woman. I had a full hysterectomy 14 months ago due to severe scarring due to endometriosis. It ended up being a very complicated surgery as a lot of my organs in the lower abdomen were fused together from the scarring. I still get dull, cramp like pains in my lower abdomen and sometimes get sharp, shooting pains. What could be the reason for this?
I also am hypothyroid. Have trouble losing weight.
Also would like to know if Armor thyroid is better than Synthroid.

Brief Answer:
treatment advised
Detailed Answer:
Hello, I understand your concern.
It is common to have such symptoms after hysterectomy for endometriosis because of extensive scarring after surgery which involves certain nerves which are present nearby.
Take tablet Lyser D thrice a day for 7 days with meals.
See if it relieves the pain and in case it doesn't then visit your gynecologist for examination.
In case you have other questions i will be happy to help.

Thank you. How long does the swelling last after a major surgery like this? I have uploaded my post op report. I still feel like I get swelling when I exert myself too much. Also, I still get fatigued quickly. Is this normal 14 months after surgery?
Brief Answer:
take lyser D
Detailed Answer:
The fatigue you are getting is all due to withdrawal of normal female hormones after hysterectomy.
It will go soon but start taking good amount of milk and calcium supplements.
Swelling usually subsides by 3-4 weeks in usual patients but in case of diabetes and infection in post operative period it may take 6-8 weeks.
Take lyser D as advised and wait for relief but in case you still feel uncomfortable then get yourself examined by your gynecologist.
Take care.
