Question : Hi, I have had chronic sinusitis, rhinitus and allergy issues for many years. A year and half ago moved down to Florida, and haven't really had a flare up until now. Started about a week ago with what I believe was a sinus infection. My sinuses mostly drained now, but my ears are hurting and my throat is sore, not sore, sore again, etc. Sometimes really hard to swallow. I can't take normal decongestants because of hbp, so is there any way to ease my discomfort without having to go in to a doctor? I am drinking fluids and using vicks rub on chest and nose. Any suggestions?

Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
You can do following things in addition.....
Use a saline nasal spray and do steam inhalation 2-3 times a day.
Do warm saline gargles 2-3 times a day.
Avoid cold drinks and take hot liquids.
Avoid alcohol
These measures should make you all right in next few days.
Consult a doctor if you develop fever or start having pain or swelling on face or ears.
I hope it helps, however you are most welcome to revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
