What Causes Eczema On The Arms During Pregnancy?

Seems to be discoid eczema, cortisone, moisturising lotion & antihistaminic
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I have reviewed the attached photograph and it looks like discoid eczema.
There are chances of eczema worsening in pregnancy due to hormonal and immune changes taking place in the body.
In cases of eczema with pregnancy I recommend my patients to apply a mild topical steroid like cortisone cream on the affected areas twice daily along with frequent and liberal application of a moisturising lotion on the entire body.
Besides this I also ask them to take antihistaminic like tablet Chlorpheniramine maleate 4 mg once or twice daily depending on the intensity of itching.
Also avoid using soaps, instead use soap free cleanser for bathing, take bath with lukewarm water instead of hot water, avoid wearing woollen clothes in direct contact with the body, avoid use of blowers and heaters and keep your body as much moisturised as possible.
