Question : I have delivered a pre term baby and he is now 38 days old. We checked alp and it is 691.kindly let me know it is normal for my baby.
Brief Answer:
Normal. Not a cause for concern.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. The ALP level can be raised in newborns without any cause to worry about. Let me emphasize on the fact that breast milk is the best possible milk for a baby and there can be no alternatives for the same.
However, it would be a good idea to get the liver function rechecked after a couple of months.
Let me know if I could help further.
