What Causes Elevated BP Levels, Slight Headache And Fatigue?

Question: This morning I woke up feeling weird. I had a slight headache, my legs felt tired, kind of a knot in my stomach and my heart was racing and pounding. I felt out of control of my body. Using my phone, I checked my heart rate (BPM). It was 110. Normal for me is around 70. I checked my BP, again using my phone, it was 144/95. My normal average around 120/70.
I sat down for a few minutes and talked to my husband about what I was experiencing. After a few minutes, I got up and walked upstairs. When I got up the stairs, I thought my heart was going to beat right out of my chest. I checked my heart rate and blood pressure again. The numbers were very similar to what I reported above. I had to just sit for a few minutes until I felt this had subsided. I was feeling a bit shaky and weird.... but that could be because I was scared and uncertain. After resting for about 45 minutes, I've gone about my normal activities of the day. I've felt "normal" since. Except that I've felt tired and a bit short of breath.
Could I have had some kind of heart event? This is new to me. I've had a few very mild episodes where I felt like my heart was pounding hard over the past few years (usually at night). but nothing like I felt this morning.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.
After reviewing your symptoms they seems more likely to be related to common flue (virosis) anto aren't typical for heart issues.
This is why I strongly recommend stay calm and schedule an appointment with your cardiologist. If you were my patient I would recommend doing the following exams to definitely exclude any heart problems:
- ECG
- Cardiac echo
- Holter monitoring
- Stress test
Only if the symptoms will increase in intensity (will become worse) you should go to ER.
Hope this will be of help!
Wish you health!
