Question : Is it possible for my GGT levels to be 983??? That is what came back from the blood lab. I DO drink and I do take anti depressents and anti anxiety medication(benzodiazepines)... Wouldn't I already be dead?????

I read your question and i understand your concern. High gamma glutamyl transferase levels as you mentioned are significant for some underlying pathology and should be sought out. Alcohol use, liver failure, bile flow obstruction, diabetes, pancreas disease, lung disease, gall stones, use of drugs that are toxic or metabolised in liver like benzodiazepines you use etc are some of the possible options.

I want you to consult a hepatologist immediately and let them correlate it clinically and work you up further for a cause.
