Brief Answer:
Elevated GGT could be due to keflex.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

I have read your query and understand your concern.

Elevated GGt in your case could most likely be related to cephalexin(keflex) which is known to have hepatotoxic potential causing leakage of this enzyme into the circulation.

In most cases, this resolves spontaneously with cessation of the antibiotic.

Kidney infection is not related to the rise of GGT.

If the levels of GGT do not resolve or continue to rise within 5-7 days of cessation of antibiotics, its highly recommended that you undergo an Ultrasound of the liver to rule out occult biliary disease.

Hope this info is helpful to you at the moment,

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Echinacea are the likely culprits.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Madam,
Welcome back,

In such a case,i would like to strongly attribute this ggt elevation to the usage of echinacea.

Echinacea have strong predilection to cause allergic/immune mediated injury to biliary radicles of the liver causing sterile biliary enzyme leakage susceptible individuals .

In most cases this would resolve spontaneously without medications.

Ibuprofen will not cause any asymptomatic ggt elevation.

Thank you.
