Brief Answer:
We need to rule out multiple myeloma.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Most common cause for raised IgG and IgA I idiopathic (without any cause).
But your symptoms like fatigue, spine pain etc need further investigation to rule out multiple myeloma (blood cancer of plasma cells).
I am not threatening you but multiple myeloma should be ruled out.
Another possibility of spinal TB (relapse).
Please let me know if you had MRI done for spine pain or not.
I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

I had a bone nuclear scan done on my spine 2years ago when i had TB but they said it was normal. My IgG is 18.70 (g/l) and my IgA is 5.17 (g/l). But Multiple myeloma mostly occurs in old aged people.

Yes, you are right. Multiple myeloma occur in old age. But we have to rule out multiple myeloma in patients with raised Immunoglobulins and spine pain.
You have not mentioned your immunoglobulin values before. Your values are not much elevated. So no need to worry for multiple myeloma.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

ok..but there's so many other serious conditions associated with having high proteins. like hepatitis, liver diseases etc..also why did my gp refer me to a specialist if its nothing to worry about because you're saying its not much elevated..

Brief Answer:
I guess you are referred to rule out serious diseases.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Primary doctor can not take all the decisions by himself.
You are symptomatic (fatigue, spine pain) with slightly elevated Immunoglobulins.
So your primary doctor might want to rule out any serious underlying disease and hence refer to specialist for detailed workup.
And I also personally feel that you should get yourself checked to rule out
1. Spinal TB
2. Multiple myeloma
Hepatitis and liver disease are less likely because they present differently. Liver diseases cause jaundice, vomiting, nausea, right hypochondriac pain etc. And these are easily picked by primary doctor.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
