Brief Answer:
It depends on how high the counts are.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, depends on how high the counts are.

After a surgery, blood loss, or severe infection there can be a temporary increase in Bone marrow activity to produce extra cells. This is temporary and a compensatory phenomenon, that will revert back to normal when the levels are corrected.

Please let me know what count levels you are talking about so that I can advise correctly.

Regards

Brief Answer:
Dear XXXX, A white cell count of 13100 is not very high (normal up to 1000

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX, A white cell count of 13100 is not very high (normal up to 10000), and an RBC count of 4.28 is normal. This level of white cell count does indicate an infection but not blood cancer. Recurrent urine infection may be due to constriction or stricture of urethra (the narrow tube that connects bladder to outside), or a thickened bladder wall more likely the former since you say you were even born with urine infection. Was a Bone marrow test done? Normally it is done from a flat bone (sternum or pelvic bone). And in any case a high count in bone marrow will reflect in the peripheral blood. Please forward the lab reports to me so that I can interpret it better. Waiting for further inputs from you. Regards.
